The other day I shed tears. A while later I cried copiously. And just now I’m weeping gently …
It seems strange but each experience has been for a totally different reason and tapping into a wide swath of emotions. I guess that’s always the story but I haven’t paid much attention before …
The worst was a true crying jag over the death of a much-loved friend, remembering the good — and the bad — times we shared, feeling guilty that we had lost touch, realizing she was gone forever …
Then tears cascading down my cheeks in amazed laughter at the priceless literary characters dotting Woody Allen’s brilliant film “Midnight in Paris” …
And this minute tears are coming as I’m in the prescribed “take it easy” mode after eye surgery — feeling a little sorry for myself but also oh-so-thankful that all went well …

Crying can be a good release. I’m glad your eye surgery went well.
